6 Events in the Greater Atlanta Area to Get You in the Mood for the Holidays

The holidays are a great time to venture out from your newly purchased farmstead in Twiggs Co, GA to see all the festive events going on in the area. Whether you’d like to see a tree lighting, or find the perfect gifts for your loved ones at a local farmer’s market, there’s plenty to find down south.

1. Mulberry Street Market (Macon, GA)

Every Wednesday, 3:30pm – 6pm

Enjoy everything that’s fresh this season, beyond your own garden! Want to make a pumpkin pie with the freshest ingredients? Plum pudding with farm-fresh plums? You have plenty of opportunities to select the best produce at this weekly event.

2. Atlanta Christmas Gift Show (Atlanta, GA)

Nov. 1 – 3, 2019, 10am – 4pm

Nothing helps you get more into the season than getting a little shopping out of the way. Head to the Atlanta Expo Center to find gifts for just about everyone on your list (and maybe a little something for your new country home, too.) Admission is $3, and parking is free.

3. Holiday Lights at the Barnsley Resort (Adairsville, GA)

Thanksgiving – New Year’s Day

A trip to the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains is worth the journey when you are going to see the lights in the English-style garden at this beautiful resort. Check in for a romantic getaway and experience even more festive activities to get you ready for the season.

4. The Rock Ranch at Christmas (The Rock, GA)

Nov. 28th– Dec. 25th, times vary

Looking for fun for the whole family? Head out to this former home of the late S. Truett Cathy (founder of Chick Fil A) to see more than a million lights on display. Drive your family through an unforgettable experience or stop in for a number of other kid-friendly activities, such as Santa’s Workshop, Christmas Express Train Ride, or the Holiday Gift Shop (in case you aren’t done shopping yet).

5. The CHOA Christmas Parade (Atlanta, GA)

Dec 1st, 2019, 10:30am

Ring in the season on the right note by attending one of the largest annual holiday parades on the East Coast. Bring your snacks and mittens to Peachtree Street early to get a good spot, and be ready to wave to Santa to welcome the Christmas season.
