Fun Upcoming Events in North Georgia

upcoming events in north georgia

North Georgia is known for its rugged mountains and beautiful scenery. In fact, the Cherokee once called this area home actually called the mountains “The Great Blue Hills of God.” With a tagline like that, how could you resist living there? Now that summer is in full swing and the kids are out of school, it’s the perfect time to get out and enjoy life.

If you’re looking for something to entertain your friends and family over the coming weeks, we’ve put together some fun upcoming activities and events for all ages in the North Georgia area.

Jaemor Farms

5340 Cornelia Hwy

Alto, GA

When you mention to the kids that you’re heading out for a day on the farm, they’re probably going to be a bit skeptical at first. However, when they get a load of the corn maze, hayrides, super farm slide, petting zoo, and duck races, they’ll be glad they tagged along! The grown-ups can also enjoy some fresh fruits and veggies from the market as well as sweet Georgia peaches and homemade ice cream.

Woodstock Summer Concert Series

101 E. Main St.

Woodstock, GA

On August 8th, Atlanta’s popular party band The Rupert’s Orchestra will be making an appearance at the Park at City Center for their free concert in the series. They’re known for their covers on genres from Top 40 to Motown and are sure to get everyone dancing in their seats. Later in the season on September 12th, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles tribute band Gimme Abbey will be given their chance on the stage. In addition to the great live music, there will also be bouncy houses, food vendors, face painting and balloon animals for the kids, and fun times had by all.

Oktoberfest

1074 Edelweiss Strasse

Helen, GA

Starting in mid-September and running through the first week of November is the biggest Oktoberfest you’ll find outside of Germany...probably. Tens of thousands of people converge upon this tiny Alpine-style town in the mountains of Northern Georgia to enjoy delicious beer, authentic German singing and dancing, and good times with friends old and new.

If you’ve never been, mark your calendar for this year. The whole town gets into the spirit, with restaurants serving authentic German fare and costumed revelers adding a touch of reality to the celebrations.

This is just a small selection of the great events being held all around the North Georgia area. Tell us how you plan on spending your late summer and early fall months and maybe we’ll tag along.
